Razai / Block–Print Quilt

This is a block–printed quilt that has traditional art forms from centuries ago. This pattern is a floral motif hand-stamped that uses carved wooden blocks that have also been passed down in families specializing in this art form. The ink is primarily from natural indigo and madder dyes. The actual quilt contains raw cotton that was refined by hand, which is a skill passed through generations of women in this community.
