Potli Bags / Embroidered Drawstring Pouches

These are handmade bags made with silk, which were decorated and embroidered in the style of Zardozi, a Mughal-era technique that involved stitching silver and gold metallic threads, beads, glass beads, and mirror pieces by hand. These female artists work from their homes using ultra-fine needles and powerful magnifying glasses to create this intricate detailing, making each pouch a miniature work of art.
