Kutchi Embroidered Decorative Fan

This is a crescent-shaped traditional fan, hand-embroidered with shisha (mirror) work, chain stitch borders, and geometry fills. These fans are made using bamboo, a lightweight wood to accommodate for the drastic heat in the region. The actual cover of the fan is made with cotton fabric that is heavily embroidered, acting as a powerful cooling tool as well as a decorative. This embroidery also utilizers a unique style called Mutwa, home to Gujarat.
