Kutchi Banjara Tote Bag

$85.00Price
Quantity

This is a hand-assembled and embroidered large tote bag that was created through various fabric patches, unique from the uniform cloth tote bags. This multi-fabric patch design comes from the community’s iconic style, where they specialize in intricate and dense chain stitches and mirror embroidery. The cowrie shells, wooden beads, and bright colored pink pom-poms are traditionally used by Rabari women to indicate milestones in their lives, from their birth to womanhood to marriage to becoming a mother, and many more, making each bag unique and personal.

Origin: Rabari tribal women of Kutch, Gujarat
