These are kerosene-style lanterns which is handwrapped in Rajasthani ribbon called gota patti. Gota patti is made from tightly woven zari, a type of metallic thread, and decorated with hand-cut flowers, sequins, and tiny mirrors. Gota patti was originally used in bridal wear in the courts of Rajputana to showcase and emphasize textile embellishment. This is now one of the most significant livelihoods for women in Jaipur.
